This is not a KashKin gig…….but in addition to their usual funky mix of delicious covers, Hobart party band Sugartrain will be playing songs by KashKin at Street Eats Franko in Frankin Square Hobart, 21 February 2020. A 50/50 mix of original and covers.
Should be an interesting blend of material for your dancing and listening pleasure!

Thanks to everyone who came out to support us yesterday an the Longley International Hotel! Despite a bit of a grim forecast, the weather was good right up until near the end of the afternoon.

Big thanks to Hannah at the pub for supporting original music. Hopefully we’ll be back there in the summertime along with the sunshine!

The fabulous Mr Steve Hall will be joining us on conga and horn at our next gig at Longley International Hotel on Sunday 18 August! We don’t usually have a horn player in the band so have written some parts especially for Steve on this gig. Should sound awesome!

Hey everyone – we’ll be playing a couple of new songs at our next show at the Longley International Hotel near Hobart on Sunday August 18th.

‘Say George’ is a tribute to the funkmeister himself – Mr George Clinton – and ‘Totally Natural (The RBF Song) we could say, is a little autobiographical 😉

We’ll be playing in the afternoon, 2.30pm to 5.30pm.

We had a great time playing at the Great Huon Valley Festival in Frankin last weekend. It was a pleasure to play through such a great  PA rig too – the sound was awesome! The weather was good and the setting was fantastic looking out across the beautiful Huon river. Thanks for having us!

We’re excited to announce that we will be appearing at the inaugural Great Huon Valley Festival this November!…..and even more excited to say that we’ll be bringing some fresh new tunes along with us.

We’ll be playing on Sunday November 11, time to be announced.

We’re excited to say our new album ‘Alpha’ is released today!

“This album is a collection of demos from the early days of KashKin that I wrote, recorded and produced at Stanton Studios in Hobart. Whilst they were never intended as final releasable versions, I think they capture the excitement and immediacy of new music coming to life, and are a good representation of how I wanted the songs to sound and feel. It can be hard sometimes to replicate and capture that initial spark of a song coming together, but I think these versions manage to do that – despite, or perhaps because of, the rawness and roughness of some of the parts and mixes!

The playing and singing on the majority of the tracks is just Kalo and myself, but joined by Rod, Mat, Ruth, Sean and the Fox on the others. The album includes a bonus live version of ‘Jet Set’ recorded live at the Moonah Arts Centre.
